We are always interested in hearing from motivated physicists and materials scientists who are interested to join our team. Our state-of-the-art labs for materials growth and spectroscopy are based in the beautiful coastal town of St Andrews, 30 miles northeast of Edinburgh. We also perform extensive experiments at synchrotron light sources around the world. You should be keen explore new scientific problems utilising these capabilities, or by developing new ones.
PhD positions
You should have, or be about to obtain, a degree in Physics or Materials Science, with a strong background in condensed matter and/or materials physics. Example projects can be found here. We are pleased to consider applicants for fully-funded positions via the following schemes:
